The bridge carries the Cambrian Railway Line, which runs from Shrewsbury in Shropshire, England, to Pwllheli, Wales. Pedestrians can cross the bridge on payment of a small toll fee. (£1.00 in 2010 for one person and one bicycle). The toll is the same for a single or same day return crossing. | The bridge was built by the Aberystwyth and Welsh Coast Railway and opened in 1867.
