Llanrhystud Ceredigion Wales
Llanrhystyd South beach is located between Aberaeron and Aberystwyth, Ceredigion and faces the Irish Sea. The beach has been awarded the highest water quality grade (2010) and in 2009 won the Green Coast beach award. Llanrhystyd is suited for windsurfing, swimming and general leisure activities. Located just to the south of the village, it is possible to park on the pebble bank behind the beach which is accessible from the A487. The beach is a long rural storm terraced beach situated in a special landscape area. The area is popular with visitors and contains five historic limekilns at the southern end of the beach that are due to be restored. During the summer a weekly market and the beach are popular destinations for residents of the local hinterland. Heritage Coast has also assigned an area of the beach to their care.
