Aberporth beach - east - Fathcarreg Beach in Ceredigion is situated in Cardigan Bay, looking out onto the Irish Sea. Aberporth is a popular little resort along the Ceredigion Marine Heritage Coast. Located ten miles south of New Quay, Aberporth overlooks two sandy beaches and is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Ceredigion. Fathcarreg beach has rock pools and a small stream running out onto the beach, and cliff top walks looking over the Ceredigion Coast. The Ceredigion Coastal Path and the Wales Coastal Path pass through Aberporth beach. Above the beach is a small café that overlooks the beach, a souvenir shop with buckets and spades, and also a friendly pub, other facilities at the beach include food, disabled toilets and a slipway. |Swimming, surfing, sailing, windsurfing, fishing and coastal walks are among the activities available at the beach. Be aware that part of the Fathcarreg end of Aberporth beach is also a working beach and fishermen haul their catches ashore and load on to tractors. As well as being on the Ceredigion Marine Heritage Coast, Aberporth is also in Cardigan Bay’s Special Area of Conservation which is highly recognised for its varied wildlife.
