Traeth y Mwnt Cardigan Ceredigion Wales
Mwnt beach is in Cardigan, Ceredigion and is situated in Cardigan Bay. The beach faces the Irish Sea and is owned by the National Trust. Mwnt is a small community and ancient parish around 4.5 miles from Cardigan. In 2009 Mwnt beach was awarded the Green Coast award. Mwnt gets its name from the prominent steep conical hill, which is a landmark of Cardigan Bay. Bottlenosed Dolphins, Seals and Porpoise are often sighted from the shore and spectacular views can also be seen from the short clifftop walks which surround the area. A 13th century church lies nearby and, with a host of history, Mwnt is a great destination for visitors. Swimming is popular at the beach and facilities include food, disabled toilets and a campsite.
