For clarity only the officially designated sites of 'outstanding natural beauty
' and the National Parks are portrayed.
Most of Wales is of ' outstanding
natural beauty ' and I hope will remain so. However the threat of the GIANT
WIND TURBINES must be confronted before it is too late.
In my opinion.....no more Wind
turbines should be built on shore until the viability of the off shore Wind
turbines has been examined. The Dutch are now building their Wind turbines out
at sea.
Update 2007 :The Dutch are now
saying that even the offshore wind turbines are not reliable !
THERE IS ANOTHER "GREEN"
ALTERNATIVE TO ONSHORE TURBINES..TIDAL POWER. THERE ARE PROPOSALS FOR A TEN
MILE LONG LAGOON OFF RHYL NORTH WALES, WHICH WILL SUPPLY POWER TO THE NATIONAL
GRID. THE LAGOON WILL GENERATE THE POWER USING TIDAL POWER..WHICH UNLIKE THE
WIND IS RELIABLE AND GUARANTEED. FEW PLACES IN THE WORLD ARE LUCKY ENOUGH TO
BE ABLE TO PRODUCE POWER THIS WAY SO I HOPE THE PROJECT GETS UP AND RUNNING
QUICKLY , BEFORE THE NATIONAL PARKS ARE COVERED IN WIND TURBINES...DESTROYING
FOR EVER THE BEAUTY OF WALES. |
