10/10 for our stay, absolutely perfect! Never been made to feel so welcome by the owners and locals in their pub. Absolutely fantastic. Loved being able to take the dogs in with us, and enjoyed the location, views and walks! A great place!!

Great cottage located between Hayfield and New Mills. Well designed, lacks nothing and an ideal base for exploring the peaks. Definitely recommend.

Cosy and very clean accommodation with lovely friendly owners. Great location for dog walks and exploring the beautiful Peak District. Vicky and Stuart cannot be more helpful and we really had a lovely time.

Another excellent recent stay at the barn at the inn. Cottage is well appointed, modern and very clean and cosy. Friendly owners and the little local treats like jam and cheese are a great touch. Plenty of pubs within walking distance and cottage ideally situated between the village of Hayfield and town of New Mills. Have stayed before and will definitely stay again.

We enjoyed our stay. We are used to large bath towels, those provided were skimpy. Very clean and nice little touches - attention to detail. Garden seating very relaxing. Access not suitable for people with walking disabilities Lovely local villages. Owners very helpful.

Barn at the looks good on the net in reality all the little touches we found made it better. Stuart and Vicky are brilliant hosts, the pub is a very friendly place, we found some good walks in the area.

This property is a real gem. The owners are very friendly and Vicky had thought of absolutely everything to make our stay comfortable. Every conceivable piece of equipment you could possibly need was provided and she even provided some bread, local cheese, eggs from their own chickens, milk, butter and homemade jam! Despite being immediately to the rear of the pub, it is very private and wonderfully quiet. The entrance is a bit odd, being through part of the pub building (but separate to it) and there is a flight of steps before you get to the cottage, so maybe a bit tricky if you have any mobility problems or loads to carry. However, this didn't cause us any problems. Close to the Sett Valley trail from which you can walk to New Mills and Hayfield. I would recommend the New Mills Walk which is within the extensive literature provided by the owners - varied and interesting. I would also recommend eating at the adjoining pub but note no food on Sat/Sun and 9pm closing on Sun. The locals are very friendly and the food and beer is cheap and excellent. For more variety, the Sycamore Arms in Thornsett is also excellent as is the Royal Hotel in Hayfield. Everywhere is super dog friendly. Definitely recommended.

We had a great time. Everything you can think of is in the cottage and it's so close to many beautiful places. The owners are very friendly and always on hand to help.

Small barn conversion with shared concrete covered courtyard. Some nice touches on arrival like local fare, jam, butter, cheese etc. Fully equipped with toilet roll, dishwasher tabs, cleaning stuff etc. No WiFi as advertised and bed extremely uncomfortable. Countryside views a bit exaggerated even from the uppermost window.

We really enjoyed our holiday at the barn at the inn. We have 3 big dogs and the owners welcomed us without concern and even allowed us to enter the pub when they were wet and dirty. I would definitely recommend staying here there are some lovely walks close by and the locals are very friendly. We are going to book to stay again.

The location was great, and the actual accommodation was modern and well equipped. Greeting was great, pub was lovely and even made us of the outside area. Definately recommended.

Fabulous property and very friendly owners and locals. Lots of really nice touches such as stuff in the fridge on arrival, local preserves, butter, milk, juice etc. and some treats for the dogs too. Had a lovely relaxing time and will definitely return on the future.
