A 19th century terraced cottage in the thriving market town of Llandysul which lies directly across the Teifi River in Carmarthenshire.. Canary House is a stone-built house dating back to the late 19th century and was once part of an old department store in the small Teifi Valley town of Llandysul. Today Canary House has been well arranged to provide two bedrooms, a living room with an original oak beam and a lovely large dining room/conservatory which overlooks the courtyard. The town of Llandysul is ideally situated and at the centre of so many places to visit in west Wales. The town, more like a large village, is steeped in history and here you can find a small selection of shops, cafés and pubs, as well as a delightful walk leading from the 13th century church through the park running alongside the River Teifi. The renowned Llandysul Paddlers outdoor pursuit centre in the town, offers a variety of activities and is a centre for excellence for Canoe Wales. You can fish on the River Teifi and licences are available from the local hotel. There’s a weekly WI country market selling local produce and home baked goods and there’s a leisure centre with an indoor swimming pool. Further afield, are the interesting market towns of Newcastle Emlyn and Cardigan, and the larger towns of Carmarthen and Lampeter are all within easy reach.A drive of about 20 minutes will bring you to Cardigan Bay, one of the most spectacular coastlines in Britain. Many beaches are dog friendly year round, ideal if you are bringing your family pet on holiday. Visit delightful New Quay; with picturesque houses, pubs and restaurants, the town clings to the sides of the hills rising above the blue waters of Cardigan Bay. Often bottlenose dolphins can be spotted and in season, dolphin survey boat trips are available from the sheltered harbour or you can just enjoy the sandy beach, have an ice cream and watch the boats bobbing about.A little further up the coast, the rows of colourful painted Georgian houses in Aberaeron cluster around the stone harbour which is the focal point of the town. Here you will find an array of stylish independent shops and a huge selection of places to eat and drink, from pubs and cafés to high class bistros and restaurants and, of course, fish and chips and the famous honey ice cream. Aberaeron hosts a series of events during the season, including the Festival of Welsh Ponies and Cobs, the Cardigan Bay Seafood Festival, and Mackerel Festival. With award winning beaches and iconic harbours, delightful towns and villages framed by the Cambrian Mountains, Ceredigion is a wonderful place to visit, so why not make Canary House your choice for your holiday, be it a short break or a longer stay?
