A fantastic family property, this traditional Welsh barn is charming and characterful. It offers stunning views of the Black Mountains and is surrounded by fields and farmland which are perfect for walking. . Parc Farmhouse is a detached traditional Welsh long barn, well over 100 years old and converted into a family home by the present owner’s father in the early 1970s. Now offering comfortable and characterful holiday accommodation, the ground floor bedrooms are where the old cow sheds used to be, and the first floor bedrooms have Apex roofing. There are beams, exposed stonework, wooden floors and a lovely fireplace with a wood burner for cosy evenings. The large farmhouse kitchen is a great place for breakfast and informal dining, and the spacious lounge also offers a more formal dining space. There is even a charming entrance room which has been perfectly adapted into a children’s play area. The patio to the front of the house is a perfect suntrap for enjoying a drink.Situated in a quiet location 1000ft above sea level and surrounded by fields and farmland with access to walks, Parc Farmhouse offers stunning views of the Black Mountains and right across to the Preseli Mountains in the west. Both the Brechfa Forest and Abergorlech mountain biking trails are close by. There are bike trails suitable for beginners or the most advanced.Carmarthenshire, one of the oldest counties, is known as the ’Garden of Wales’ and is rich in myths and folklore. The Celtic Iron Age people made it home, and the Romans made it the most westerly stronghold of their empire. The tales of Merlin, King Arthur and his knights, magical maidens from deep mountain lakes, and dragons abound here and there are no shortage of castles and museums to discover. Visit Carmarthen, Wales’ oldest town, which is great for shopping, cinema and restaurants. Ride the Gwili Steam Railway or take a day out to some of the most glorious sandy beaches in Europe.
