The first completed section of the Wales Coastal Path
was opened at Saint Trillo's Chapel, Capel Sant Trillo, Rhos on Sea on
July 1st 2010. Conwy CBC and the Welsh Assembly Government Minister Jane
Davidson officially opened the first completed section of the Wales
Coast Path, a 27.6 mile (44.4 km) stretch from Gronant Dunes, east of
Prestatyn in Denbighshire, to the West Shore of Llandudno in Conwy.
The Wales Coast Path, a national endeavour to build a
continuous 850 mile (1370 km) path from Queensferry in the north to
Chepstow in the south, has been underway since 2007. The full Path is
scheduled to be completed by May 2012. The Wales Coastal Path will join
up already completed sections including the North Wales Path, the
Anglesey Coastal Path, the Llyn Coastal Path, the Gower Path, the
Ceredigion Coastal Path and the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path.
