In the foothills of the Snowdonia Mountains in North Wales, sits the village of Llanllechid. The village sits 2 kilometres north of Bethesda and south of the coastal city of Bangor, in the county of Gwynedd. The Afon y Llan flows through the village before joining the Ogwen River on its way to the Irish Sea at Aber Ogwen, west of Port Penrhyn. A section of the North Wales Cycle Route cuts through Llanllechid and a network of walks lead out from the village toward the Ffrancon Pass and the foothills of the Carneddau, including Moel Fabon (408m) and Gyrn (542m).
The North Wales Coastal Path is just over 1km north of the village. There are several ancient settlements close to Llanllechid and a leisure centre 1.5 km south of the village between Llanllechid and Bethesda.
