Carway is a village in the county of Carmarthenshire, South Wales. The village lies in the Gwendraeth Fawr valley and the Afon Morlais runs through the village. Pontyates sits to the north of Carway, Trimsaran to the south west, Kidwelly to the west and Llandyfaelog to the north west.
Many footpaths criss-cross the landscape and the estuary of the Gwendraeth river is 5 miles to the west of the village, with the wide expanse of the Cefn Sidan Sands and the Pembrey Country Park some 5 or 6 miles away.
Carway was once the site of open cast mining, however as with the South Wales Valleys, the landscape has been transformed and where once stood a coal scarred site now stands the green fields of the Ffos Las Racecourse and the Glyn Abbey Golf Course.
