Just two miles from the town of Caernarfon, Bontnewydd is a peaceful village surrounded by beautiful countryside in Gwynedd, North Wales. The river Gwyrfai runs through the village and provides a beautiful place for picnics and walks. Bontnewydd is an ideal place to visit.
The Greenwood Centre Forest Park is located in Bethel, just 12 minutes away, one of Wales's, finest attractions. Full of family fun and learning, activities and facilities include an adventure playground, archery, a boardwalk maze, walking on stilts, building a den and the brilliant Green Dragon Rollercoaster. Nearby in Caernarfon you can visit the castle, built by Edward I in 1285, and a historical monument which should definitely be appreciated. In the opposite direction, Beddgelert lies just 19 minutes from Bontnewydd and is a splendid village to visit, seeping in history and legend. Accommodation isn't plentiful in Bontnewydd, but the Plas Dinas Country House Hotel is situated right in the heart of the village, offering luxurious rooms and a comfortable night's stay. There are plenty of guesthouses however in Caernarfon, as well as camping sites towards Caernarfon and along the A4085 road towards Beddgelert.
