No mention of Pryce Jones. Newtown (proper name Llanfair yng Nghedewain, Y Drenewydd isjust a translation of Newtown) had a thriving livestock market and wool industry, and the factory at Lion works (BRD/GKN)not a street market which was mainly introduced by immigrants from over the border brought in en masse to dilute the local Welsh population. There are few locals left in the town. The place has lost it's soul.
