Attended the Globe Centre for Arts and Ideas in Hay on Wye on Saturday night and enjoyed a fantastic 10 piece band called Bristol Afrobeat Project. Their phenomenal and multi-talented line-up, led by an amazing bass sax the size of a small dishwasher, thumped out throbbing African and Latin beats with a female vocal to die for. A stunning musical tour de force culminating with all and sundry present strutting their stuff across the generation gap with admirable and total abandon. What a great venue, band, atmosphere and general vibe we all experienced! Thank you Hay, and our good buddy and Hay resident Gill, for introducing us to this amazing Palace of Fun(k)!!
