Cold Knap Point Barry Vale_of_Glamorgan Wales
Valeways Millennium Heritage Trail is a circular route, 69 miles long, around the Vale of Glamorgan through landscapes of historical and scenic interest, with inland and coastal sections. The meandering route runs through the Vale of Glamorgan visiting towns and historic villages including Barry, Cowbridge, Llantwit Major, Llanmaes, Llanmihangel, Llancarfan, Llanblethian, St Brides Major and Llanharry, with spurs to Ewenny Priory and St. Fagans. | The 14-mile Glamorgan Heritage Coast section provides a coastal route taking in rocky and sandy beaches, sand dunes and cliffs. | Colour leaflets describing circular walks in the area of 3-8 miles are available from local libraries and tourist information points and as downloadable route leaflets on the Valeways website. Many of these walks overlap with the Trail and greatly extend the range of options for sampling a section in a circular walk. | The terrain is varied and includes coastal paths on the Heritage Coast, historic churches, pasture land in the Vale, and industrial archaeology sites, as well as prehistoric sites such as Tinkinswood and the St Lythans burial chambers.
