Theatr Mwldan is a vibrant arts and entertainment complex,
situated in the centre of Cardigan, an old market town on the beautiful coast of
west Wales.
Originally established in 1983, Theatr Mwldan began life as a community project
to convert Cardigans disused abattoir into a theatre. Now a company limited by
guarantee and a registered charity, Theatr Mwldan is a highly successful
community enterprise, a company owned and managed by the community that it
serves.
Theatr Mwldan presents a year-round multi-artform programme of professional and
community live performance, participatory activity, plus one of best film
programmes in Wales, including both mainstream and specialist film releases.
A major £7 million development project was completed in June 2004, delivering a
vast improvement in the range of facilities available. The theatre’s level of
activity increased enormously to more than 80,000 admissions per year, and its
