Aberystwyth Ceredigion Wales
The River Ystwyth (Welsh: Afon Ystwyth) is a river in the county of Ceredigion, West Wales. It rises in the Cambrian Mountains on the border of Ceredigion and Powys. The river flows generally westwards before draining into Cardigan Bay at Aberystwyth where it shares the harbour with the River Rheidol.

The Ystwyth valley is now sparsely populated with only a few towns and villages such as Ysbyty Ystwyth, Cwm Ystwyth, Pont-rhyd-y-groes, Llanilar and Llanfarian.

There are several walks and cycle trails in the Ystwyth Valley, with sections of the cycle route being traffic free. One 6 mile route runs from Aberystwyth to Llanilar, while another 15 mile route (using roads to achieve the full length) runs from Aberystwyth to Cors Caron Nature Reserve (near Tregaron).
