Rossett Wrexham_County Wales
The River Alyn is a tributary of the River Dee. The river Alyn rises at the southern end of the Clwydian hills in the Llandegla Moors and the Alyn Valley forms part of the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The picture shows the Alyn as it passes by the village of Rossett, Wrexham shortly before making its confluence with the River Dee. The Alyn is popular for fly fishing as evidenced by the Rossett & Gresford Fly Fishers Club, where fishing starts from Rossett weir and continues upstream for 4 miles. In my personal experience I have known but one person from Rossett, Terry Griffiths, with whom I shared accommodation at college many years ago ... and his hobby was making flies for fishing!
