Crafnant Valley Trefriw Conwy_County Wales
The Afon Geirionydd flows from Llyn Geirionydd, a lake located above the town of Trefriw, North Wales. The river flows down a steep gorge and in the early 20th Century was used to power the Klondyke Lead Mill in the Crafnant Valley. Today the river is a popular venue with school parties for the fashionable activity of gorge walking. Below the Klondyke Mill the Afon Geirionydd joins Afon Crafnant, the outflow from the neighbouring Llyn Crafnant, which itself is a tributary of the River Conwy.
