Tregynon (the home of Peter & Jane Heard) opened its doors as a family run Farmhouse Restaurant some 25 years ago. Since then, we have been extremely fortunate to have gained much acclaim from food and travel writers both from home and abroad, receiving countless awards and continually appearing in the most prestigious guides, not least the Good Food Guide for 15 consecutive years. Tregynon has also featured in, amongst others, "Here's Health", "The Vegetarian", "The Financial Times", "The Observer" and 'The Back Page' of the Daily Telegraph where food critic, Belinda Richardson, wrote:- "...the sort of farmhouse cooking that tastes as good as it looks, uses robust local ingredients simply handled and is served in stunningly beautiful surroundings ... Hang the fashion food police - farmhouse cooking of this sort is to be cherished for more than just its rarity value." Virtually everything on the menu is made on the premises by Jane, who masterminds the kitchen, using many of her recipes which feature in "Dining with Angels", an anthology of food and verse of which she is co-author. She makes every effort to avoid the use of artificial additives and preservatives and, whenever possible, to source from the very best of local produce. Indeed, at certain times of the year some of the beef and lamb may well have been reared on our own land. We also have our own smokehouse where we traditionally 'oak-smoke' gammon and bacon on the premises. Vegetarian dishes are also a speciality.....
