The harbour at Red Wharf Bay, or Traeth Goch in Welsh, is located on the west coast of Anglesey, North Wales. Just a short drive off the main east Anglesey trunk road, the A5025, yet what a beautiful location. The name Red Wharf Bay dates from the 18th century when the bay was an important port - difficult to imagine today as it is such a tranquil place. Records of trading through the port go back to the early 15th century and continue up to the advent of steam power. Today it is frequented only by small yachts and sea kayaks that take advantage of the quiet, sheltered harbour mainly during the summer months. But whether you visit for the sailing, or to walk the miles of sandy beaches, or just to sit and watch in the Ship Inn Beer Garden you will be sure to enjoy your visit to Red Wharf Bay. ....
