Pont Pen-y-Benglog Gwynedd Wales
Ogwen Valley (Welsh: Dyffryn Ogwen) is a valley located in the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales. The valley lies to the north west of Capel Curig and to the south of Bangor. It is bordered on one side by the Glyderau mountain range and on the other by the Carneddau, with Llyn Ogwen in between. The River Ogwen (Welsh: Afon Ogwen) flows through the valley before discharging into the Menai Strait at Aberogwen, near Bangor. The Ogwen Valley is popular with both walkers and rock climbers as a gateway to both the Carneddau and Glyderau mountain ranges. The car park and information centre at Ogwen Cottage at Pont pen y benglog is a well known starting point for mountain expeditions.|
The picture, taken from the Crimpiau, shows the mountains of Tryfan and the Carneddau, Carnedd Dafydd and Carnedd Llewelyn in the distance.
