Delamere Forest Park is located north-east of Chester in Cheshire, England. It is Cheshire's largest area of woodland and is a place for families to let off steam, escape the crowds and find peace in the heart of the forest. Forest Park comprises over 950 hectares of mixed deciduous and evergreen forest, open grassland and wetlands. Blakemere Moss is an excellent habitat for a wide variety of wildlife and is particularly popular with ornithologists. Delamere offers the complete day out for all the family, with a wide range of facilities. The Forest Park is also a haven for wildlife including the beautiful small tortoiseshell butterfly, greater spotted woodpecker, white faced darter dragonfly, green woodpecker, siskin and southern hawker dragonfly. Facilities include an information centre, cafe, toilets, pay and display car parking, Toilets and designated parking for visitors with disabilities, railway station, waymarked paths, two waymarked cycle routes, an all- ability trail with musical instruments for children, 3 picnic sites, forest classroom to hire, education service, Christmas tree sales, cycle hire, bike wash, permanent orienteering course and outdoor concerts in the summer.
