A Museum and Workshop of Coracles from around the world set in the grounds of a 17th Century Flour Mill beside the beautiful Cenarth falls famed for its Salmon Leaps and 200 year old Bridge over the Teifi River. The Museum, apart from its fine collection of coracles covers the history of coracles and the techniques and tools for building them. Also a section on the implements and methods used for the equally ancient art of poaching. Behind the Mill is a Nature Trail and Riverside Walk.The National Coracle Centre is situated beside the beautiful Cenarth Falls, and houses a unique collection of coracles from all over the world, including Tibet, India, Iraq, Vietnam and North America. Coracles probably date back to the Ice Age, and these once skin-covered boats are still made and used for salmon fishing in West Wales today. The workshop is an important part of the Centre and the ancient craft of coracle making is displayed here. There are also various implements and methods used for the equally ancient art of poaching.For centuries Cenarth was the centre of coracle fishing, and during the summer holidays coracles are often on the river and rides are available. Demonstrations for organised groups can be arranged.
