Amlwch Port is located on the northern coastline of Anglesey North Wales. Today the harbour is used for leisure craft and a small fishing industry that includes fishing trips and lobster and crab fishing in the Irish Sea. There is little sign that in the 1800's Amlwch Port was the world's most important exporter of copper. Nor indeed that the history of Amlwch Port and the nearby Parys Mountain Copper Mine go back to the Bronze and Roman Ages. In later years the harbour gained fame for its shipbuilding prowess and hopes are high that the harbour and the remaining buildings including a sail loft, workshop chimneys, a dry dock, a watch house with its little lighthouse and several copper bins, can be developed into a heritage centre. ....
