., Tal-y-Llyn, Gwynedd, Wales
Tal-y-Llyn is a beautiful Lake in Gwynedd West Wales.
The lake gives its name to the famous narrow gauge Talyllyn Railway although the railway finishes a few miles short of the lake at nearby Abergynolwyn.
If you are holidaying in the area I would strongly recommend a visit to the lake of Tal-y-Llyn. A trip from Aberdyfi to Dolgellau or Barmouth can be much improved by taking the "scenic route" via the B4405. Or take the long way round from Tywyn to Machynlleth and stop for a picnic at Tal-y-Llyn. And if you are interested in Welsh Castles and ancient monuments you can make the journey even better by visiting Castell y Bere at Llanfihangel y Pennant (one of Prince Llywelyn the Great's fortresses) just a few miles to the West of the lake in the secluded Dysynni Valley.....
