Llyn Crafnant nestles in a tranquil Welsh valley high in the Snowdonia National Park. The lake, which is three - quarters of a mile long and covers 63 acres. Many people regard the lake as one of the most beautiful spots in North Wales. Crafnant takes its name from �craf�, an old Welsh word for garlic and �nant�, a stream. Even today the valley of Afon Crafnant smells of wild garlic when it flowers. The lake is a popular fishing spot, the lake is well stocked with Rainbow Trout up to 3lb, supplementing the wild Brown Trout. It can be fished from all banks or the privacy of a boat which you can hire from the cafe.
