St Brynach's Holy Well is easily accessible via a short walk just off the road between Maenclochog and Henry's Moat. The well is a living spring. Water comes out from under a stone built arch and collects in a rectangular well chamber below. There are records of a Mediaeval chapel in the field beyond the hedge and of a heap of stones which marked its location. The name changed, probably during Norman times, to Bernard's Well and it is noted in this form on Ordnance maps. ....
