Bryn Cader Faner is arguably the most beautiful Bronze Age monument in Britain. Around the edge is a ring of tall, thin slabs set at an angle, projecting from the mass of the cairn like the rays of the sun, leading some to describe it as the Welsh Crown of Thorns. It is to be found in the middle of a remote and beautiful landscape in southern Snowdonia. There are many more ancient sites scattered around the area between Talsarnau and Trawsfynydd indeed it is one of the most extensive and best-preserved Bronze Age landscapes in the British Isles, with standing stones, cairn circles and the remains of round huts strung out along an ancient trackway with the jagged crown of Bryn Cader Faner towering above it all.....
