3500 year old Neolithic Burial Chamber in the Conwy Valley. Hendre Waelod is the only one of the Conwy valley portal dolmens with the traditional high portal stones-in this case, originally 3m high and probably covered by a separate lintel, now lost. The chamber behind is large but rather low, covered by an enormous capstone which has slipped to the north. Access from the portal is blocked but it is possible to squeeze inside from the other elevation. Hendre Waelod burial chamber is situated in a beautiful location on the bank of the River Conwy, near the hamlet of Graig, Glan Conwy.....
