There won’t be a Sesiwn Fawr at Dolgellau this year – but there could be a Sesiwn Fach, a smaller scale event. Organisers have decided the two-day event, which features leading rock and folk bands from all over the world, would be staged too close to the National Eisteddfod, which will be staged at Bala this year. But organisers hope a small-scale event could be staged to help raise funds to clear debts from previous events. Spokeswoman Bethan Gwanas said: “We’re still £52,000 in debt following the heavy rain which affected the 2007 event, but we do want to pay everyone we owe money to.”
Ms Gwanas said other activities were being considered to raise funds.“These include auctions, sponsored walks, bike rides, concerts and so on. We are holding a public meeting at T Siamas, Dolgellau on March 10 at 7.30pm to discuss the matter. Depending on what happens we might be able to stage a Sesiwn Fach this year. “We are hoping to be back in 2010 but in what format we don’t know. It could be just a one-day event. ....
