The Cemaes Classic Lifeboat, known as the "Charles Henry Ashley" is to be found in the harbour at Cemaes Bay, Anglesey, North Wales. The 38 foot Watson lifeboat was officially launched from Cemaes on Sunday 10th May 2009 after a £90,000 restoration. It was a remarkable turnaround for the boat which was close to rotting away when it was found at a local campsite and offered to the Amlwch Heritage Trust. | The boat was built in 1907 by the Thames Ironworks, before being in service at Cemaes from 1907 - 1932. After being retired from service in 1932, as it was non self righting, the vessel changed hands several times before being rescued and a Heritage Lottery Fund awarded a grant. And the project of getting the boat back in the water began......
