Bryn Glas Ceramics, Craft Centres Fairbourne, Gwynedd - Wales where to go, what to see and where to stay in Wales

Bryn Meurig, Friog Fairbourne Gwynedd Wales
Here at our dynamic new pottery workshop situated at the mouth of the beautiful Mawddach Estuary in Snowdonia, Wales we produce original hand made and decorated ceramics. We are sisters and business partners, Louise Thompson and Annabel Mantle who learned our craft over many years at Bryn Melyn Studio where we worked with our parents Steve and Lesley Holland producing decorative ceramics. With their backgrounds in art and architecture Lesley and Steve built a successful ceramics business which they ran for more than thirty years. Steve Holland is a trained architect with a love of literature and together Steve and Lesley have conjured up imaginary street scenes from classic literary works to decorate your walls. Steve still does some of the research and design for Bryn Glas Ceramics and occasionally undertakes special commissions. Lesley Holland, an artist from the Swiss Alps has spent many years designing and decorating ceramics as well as painting beautiful pictures under her maiden name Lesley Abplanalp. She continues to paint and exhibits some of her work in the small gallery at Bryn Melyn Studio and at other venues in Wales. While continuing to produce the original Bryn Melyn Facades (ceramic street scene murals mentioned above) and other popular lines, we are creating our own distinctive designs. Our inspiration comes largely from the world of nature and the stunning scenery that surrounds us.
