St Brynach's Church was located on the seafront at Cwm-yr-Eglwys in the north of Pembrokeshire, South Wales, UK. I say "was located" as there is little left of this 12th Century church other than the old bell tower, part of the west wall, and part of the graveyard. The site was originally occupied by a chapel founded by St Brynach who came from Ireland. Legends tell that he fled to Cwm-yr-eglwys en route to Nevern where he settled and founded the present Church of St Brynachs, Nevern. The ruinous condition of the seaside building is not due to years of neglect however, but to the great storm of October 1859. Another storm in 1979 caused even more damage to the churchyard, leaving very little of the original building. The village of Cwm-yr-Eglwys is a popular location for holiday makers, and every year the Cwm-yr-Eglwys boat club reunites for the first two weeks of August to have sailing events and regattas, with families taking part in a whole day of events including swimming races, rowing races, sandcastle competitions and many other activities throughout the day.....
