St Cwyfans Church -the Church in the Sea- sits bravely on the Islet of Cribinau off the Anglesey mainland close to the village of Aberffraw. The present church is said to have been built in the 12th or 13th Century and has undergone several renovations. Set between Porth China and Porth Cwyfan the small island is protected from the full force of the Irish Sea by massive stone walls that give the island it's distinctive outline. It is advisable to check the tide tables before paying a visit to the church as the causeway is not accessible at high tides. ....
