Poppit Sands beach is located between Cemaes Head and Cardigan at the mouth of the Afon Teifi within Cardigan Bay, Pembrokeshire, South West Wales. Poppit Sands (West) beach is a large sandy beach backed by sand dunes. The beach with it's excellent quality of water (2008) is popular for swimming and fishing (zoning is in place for fishing however). The river Teifi has a number of slipways and harbours which encourages the pursuits of fishing and sailing. Walkers are well catered for as the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path starts close to Poppit Sands.
