Whitmore Bay is the main beach on Barry Island it is a huge crescent of soft golden sand, ideal for sunbathing or sandcastle building. There are horse carriage rides operated along the beach, as well as seafront shops. The excellent (2007)water quality makes the beach popular with swimmers and paddlers.
