Roald Dahl Plass Cardiff City_of_Cardiff Wales
Cardiff Beach, if it existed, would be situated on the Severn estuary in Cardiff, South Wales. That is the problem. Because of the tidal range in this part of the Severn estuary there is no true beach in Cardiff. | At one time, there were docks and mud flats, however since the building of the Cardiff Barrage there is now an enclosed section of water, known as the Cardiff Waterfront….but no beach. | However, in 2013 a new beach was built on Roald Dahl Plass close to Cardiff Waterfront. | The new, temporary, Cardiff Bay Beach includes a giant child-friendly beach, a shallow water play area, live music and entertainment from local music and dance groups and traditional seaside rides and stalls. | For the more energetic amongst us, the beach has goalposts and volleyball nets for beach soccer and beach volleyball tournaments. Moreover, if beach sports aren't your scene you can relax on a deckchair under giant parasols.
