Margam Abbey was a Cistercian monastery, located at Margam. It was founded in 1147 as a daughter house of Clairvaux by Robert, Earl of Gloucester and was dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. All that remains of the early buildings at Margam is the nave of the church, converted after the Dissolution for parish use.
