Cymer Abbey (Welsh: Abaty Cymer) is situated to the east of the small village of Llanelltyd, on the banks of the River Mawddach. The Abbey is a ruined Cisterian Abbey with a substantial amount remaining of this simple church. Founded in 1198 by Maredudd ap Cynan for the Cistercian order, the site is now open to the public following repairs to the abbey walls. ....
