Just a few
miles along the estuary and we come upon the
World Heritage Site of the medieval walled town
and Castle of Conwy.
The
harbour and Telford's Suspension Bridge at Conwy.
Travelling further south up the Conwy valley our
journey takes us past Glan Conwy and the world
famous Bodnant Gardens.

A view toward Snowdonia
On the hills near by there
are many interesting old churches and ancient
burial sites. Above the village of Hendre you
will find the Old Church of Llangelynin and St.
Celynin's Holy Well, and above the nearby village
of Rowen you will find ancient standing stones
and a neolithic burial chamber.
And over the hill and not
so very far away from the church you will come
across the impressive neolithic burial chamber
known as Maen y Bardd, and nearby the standing
stones of Bwlch y Ddeufaen.

Bend in the River Conwy
near Tal y Cafn.
Coming back down to the
river valley we continue on to the market town of
Llanrwst.

The Inigo Jones Bridge.
