Adjoining another property, it benefits from a sheltered split-level garden in which to relax after a hard day spent touring this lovely area.
Chelmorton, with its ancient field system, 12th-century church, traditional well dressing ceremony and thriving community, is conveniently placed for the spa town of Buxton (5 miles) with its opera house and leisure centre, and the market town of Bakewell (7 miles). Chelmorton lies within the Peak District National Park, close to the Tissington Trail Cycle Path (cycle hire at Parsley Hay) and the Limestone and Midshires ways. Superb walking country is on the doorstep, whilst the beautiful valleys of Dove, Goyt, Manifold and Lathkildale are all a short drive away. The stately homes, Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are both well worth a visit and easily reached, whilst other attractions include an otter sanctuary (12 miles), limestone show caves, Alton Towers (30 miles) and the Roaches. Buxton offers two golf courses and tennis courts, whilst sailing can be arranged at the nearby Fernilee Reservoir or at Carsington Water.
