The holiday properties are well situated on the Exmoor National Park and within easy access to the coast. Attached to the owner’s farmhouse, there is an abundance of paths, bridleways and open fields; 90 acres in total are all on your doorstep. It is a wonderful natural place to visit with a wealth of wildlife in abundance.
Oaktrow Farm is an ancient south facing farmstead mentioned in the Domesday Book; the farmhouse itself dates from the 15th century. Timberscombe is the nearest village less than 2 miles away and an old village of ruby-red stone cottages and flower-filled gardens clustered around its church, as well as a friendly real ale pub. The village is towered over by Dunster Castle. The larger village of Dunster sits near the coast about 4 miles from Oaktrow. Minehead with its lovely sandy beach and steam railway is 7 miles and Dulverton about 12 miles, where there are shops, restaurants and the statue of Lorna Doone.
Taunton and Tiverton are only 27 and 30 miles away. Also a host of NT properties are all worth visiting. Being on the edge of Snowdrop Valley, February is a perfect time to visit for a holiday. Many trips are organised locally to see the valley of snowdrops, but throughout the year there is always something new to see. Guests are more than welcome to bring their horses which can be stabled and fed here at an extra cost. The views from here are stunning.
