This imposing, detached Grade II listed mansion is set in the grounds of the owner?s home and stands in its own private 2? acres with magnificent views over Exmoor, Wellington monument and the Quantock Hills. Designed in the Italian ?rococo? style of architecture, it offers very spacious holiday accommodation and a chance to experience the country estate lifestyle. The public rooms have high ceilings, huge windows and original features, and at the front of the house, there is a 16 square foot decking which leads on to the garden. Two separate staircases leading to the bedrooms ensure plenty of space for larger groups and families. Taunton (2 miles), the historic county town of Somerset, nestles in a valley at the foot of The Quantock and Blackdown Hills and is a bustling town dating back to Saxon times, situated on the banks of the River Tone. It has a lively cultural scene and an array of unique and individual shops, and features a popular monthly farmers market. Set in the historic building of Taunton Castle is the Somerset County Museum, which houses important collections in relation to Somerset?s natural and human history. Somerset has a diversity of landscape including part of the Exmoor National Park, long sandy beaches, family resorts, intriguing follies, historic villages and market towns. Five ranges of hills, the Levels and Moors, trails such as the South West Coast Path, the River Parrett Trail, Two Moors Way and the Taunton to Bridgwater Canal towpath make this a popular region for walkers and cyclists alike.
