Enjoying fine uninterrupted views over parkland towards the River Severn and the Wrekin Hill, Cronkhill Farmhouse occupies a delightful elevated position within the National Trust's Attingham Park Estate. Dating from the 17th century, this Grade I listed timber-framed farmhouse was remodelled in 1801 by John Nash to match the adjoining property. Period features abound internally, with beamed ceilings in many rooms. A walled garden with fruit trees and brick apple store also form part of the extensive grounds of the Farmhouse. Offering spacious accommodation, the property is ideal for larger parties and family reunions. Attingham Park, a Regency mansion now open to the public, lies 1 mile away. Built by the first Lord Berwick in 1782, and set within a deer park designed by Humphry Repton, there is extensive walking to be enjoyed. Nearby are two ruined abbeys and the remains of the ancient Roman city of `Wroxeter', all of which are open to the public. To the south are the Church Stretton Hills, an AONB, offering extensive hiking and outdoor activities. Eight miles to the east is the World Heritage site of Ironbridge Gorge and Bridge - birthplace of the industrial revolution - with its many museums and Coalport china exhibition. The medieval market town of Shrewsbury lies 3miles to the north, offering castle, museum, cafÃ?Å¡s and restaurants, swimming and good shopping. To the south is the ancient fortified town of Ludlow, with its Georgian architecture, fine 11th-century castle (which provides the setting for the famous Shakespeare Festival), antique shops, cafÃ?Å¡s and Michelin star restaurants. Pub Ã?½ mile.......
