In a superb elevated position, looking down upon the town of Church Stretton, this substantial family house is an ideal choice for extended families or groups wishing to take advantage of the excellent walks and golf courses to be found close by. Stunning views over the rolling Carding Mill Valley and Long Mynd can be enjoyed from the comfortable lounge, upper bedrooms and beautiful mature gardens which surround this spacious, well furnished property. With panoramic views over the surrounding hills and valleys, it is little wonder that Church Stretton (Shropshire's only spa town), is considered the `Gateway to the Hills'. Certainly, it serves as the starting point for a number of very fine walks to suit all abilities. The leisurely half-mile stroll through the National Trust's Carding Mill Valley to the Chalet Pavilion tearoom and information centre makes for a pleasant afternoon's outing, while more invigorating walks can be taken amid the upland heaths of Long Mynd (prime walking terrain) or to the iron-age hill fort at the summit of Caer Caradoc. Church Stretton is most conveniently placed, mid-way between historic Ludlow and medieval Shrewsbury, each of which offer grand castles, fine museums and a wide choice of shopping and dining facilities, together with leisure centres, cinemas, parks and seasonal festivities to keep all age groups entertained; good local transport connections mean that drivers can take a well-deserved rest too. Also well worth a visit is the manor house of Stokesay, the pretty village and castle of Clun and the bohemian little town of Bishop's Castle; while to crown a perfect day, there are many cosy little country pubs serving local ales and hearty meals to be found locally. For golf enthusiasts, a nearby 18-hole golf course (the highest in England) offers day sessions, and individual and group lessons by arrangement.......
