Nestling in the beautiful South Shropshire countryside, this tastefully and well-furnished barn is set in 2-acres of established gardens in a small hamlet near Acton Burnell and boasts stunning views of the Wrekin and South Shropshire Hills. Adjoining another holiday cottage (Tom Doby's Ref RU7), the interior boasts oak floors and doors, and timber beams, whilst outside there is a courtyard with herb garden. To complete this lovely property, guests enjoy shared use of a games room, outdoor heated swimming-pool and tennis court. The hamlet of Acton Piggot offers cycle hire for exploring the lovely Shropshire area, and other activities locally include gliding, horse riding, walking and golf. Ideally placed for exploring Shropshire, the property is a mere 8 miles from the county town of Shrewsbury, 12 miles from Church Stretton and 9 miles from Much Wenlock. Easily accessible is Bridgnorth (15 miles), offering the Severn Valley Railway, where the beauty of the River Severn can be enjoyed from a steam-hauled train. Also within 15 miles is Ironbridge, with its ten unique museums, all which tell the story of the Industrial Revolution. For children, the Acton Scott Historic Working Farm - a 19th-century recreated farm, complete with heavy horses, vintage machinery and rare breds - will prove an interesting visit. Craven Arms is home to Stokesay Castle, the best and finest preserved 13th-century fortified manor house in England, as well as the Shroshire Hills Discovery Centre, which is ideal for all the family. Other attractions in the area include Burford House Garden at Tenbury Wells, The Cosford Royal Air Force Museum at Shifnal and the Victorian brewery and beer museums at Bishops Castle.
