Situated in the centre of the village of Beddgelert in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, Plas Colwyn is an elegant, stone-built, detached house which retains many original features and has been welcoming visitors to the area since the early 1800s. This beautiful Grade II listed building is set in extensive grounds with parking, gardens and patio areas for guests to enjoy. Located in the heart of the village amidst glorious mountain scenery and overlooking the river, Plas Colwyn is ideally situated for those seeking a family holiday, quiet escape or outdoor activity break. The property comprises garden room, entrance hall, living room (with wood-burning stove), dining-room, farmhouse kitchen and games/TV room. Beddgelert is a charming Welsh village and the house is central for all the local amenities including the local village store, a post office, three pubs, several restaurants and cafés and an award-winning ice cream parlour. The traditional stone buildings nestle beneath the surrounding mountains with two rivers, the Colwyn and the Glaslyn, converging in the village making it one of the most picturesque in north Wales. Attractions in the village include the Grave of Gelert (the legendary dog which saved the son of Prince Llewelyn) and the Sygun Copper Mine, as well as being an ideal base for walking and climbing in Snowdonia and mountain biking in Beddgelert forest. The station for the Welsh Highland Railway (opened in 2009) is within walking distance and the Ffestiniog and Snowdon Mountain Railways are both within easy reach. The beautiful beaches of Criccieth and Llyn Peninsula are a short drive away and the property is ideal to explore the many attractions of North Wales including Port Meirion, Caernarfon and Porthmadog.
