Bay View
Mynydd Bodafon, Llanerchymedd. Anglesey, Wales
Situated between Moelfre and Amlwch on the north eastern side of the island, this wonderful detached cottage offers a high standard of accommodation, ideal for large families or groups. The cottage boasts a well tended garden, magnificent views overlooking Dulas Bay, and offers a cosy and welcoming atmosphere created by its inherent character as well as its open fire. The property has easy access to Moelfre with its shops pubs and restaurants, and Beaumaris with its magnificent castle built by Edward I. On the south side if the island, two main attractions will make interesting visits for families in particular. At Pili Palas, children will be enthralled by the walk-in butterfly house, where up to seventy species of butterfly can be found, some with large wing spans. A vivarium and aviary provide alternative points of interest. The Anglesey Sea Zoo is another attraction of note, where local sea conditions are reproduced in wave tanks and shallow pools, and where different environments are on show. Holyhead - the largest town on Anglesey - is home to the Church of St Cybi, home of the sixth-century St Cybi. The church and Roman walls have undergone reconstruction, the church gaining stained glass windows by Edward Burne-Jones and William Morris, and makes it well worth a visit. Holyhead also offers day trips to Ireland and is home to the very interesting Holyhead Maritime Museum, which offers lots of beautiful models of the boats that have plied the Ireland route over centuries, memorabilia of local maritime disasters and some unusual objects such as modeled whale's eardrums. Snowdonia National Park is within driving distance, and is the oldest and largest of the National Parks in Wales. Full of jagged mountains, lowland woods, glacial lakes and waterfalls tumbling from hanging valleys, this really is a beautiful place in which to spend some time. There are also many designated paths to explore and walk on whilst enjoying the surrounding scenery.......
