In a completely secluded area at the edge of Capel Curig, this property is set within 26 acres making it a total `get away from it all' retreat. It was built by a Norwegian captain at the turn of the twentieth century then subsequently sold to the Lloyd George family, and reputedly known as a hideaway for the prime minister and his girlfriends. Guests are free to roam around the grounds, having sole use of the property and the 26 acres, and take advantage of the 2-3 hour walk around the perimeter. Set midway between Betws-y-Coed and Llanberis, the property offers views over the lower Snowdon ranges from the bedrooms and from many parts of the grounds. The small outdoor swimming-pool (heated and use by prior arrangement with owner) is a treat for families, and also within the grounds are tennis courts and a large flat garden area. A gentle trickling stream follows the boundary line of the property and a sheltered woodland area to the rear adds to the attraction. Nearby Betws-y-Coed is one of Wales' most popular areas, known for its Swallow Falls waterfall and its proximity to Llanberis, the village at the foot of Snowdon. A good selection of shops, restaurants and pubs are in Betws-y-Coed and an old coaching inn serving food can be found at Capel Curig. Porthmadog and Llyn Peninsula with their lovely sandy beaches are well worth a visit. Nearby Caernarfon (once a Roman town) based within its famous castle walls, has its castle classed as a World Heritage Site, and also offers visitors a small maritime museum situated at Victoria Docks. Conwy, Abergele, Llanrwst and the coastal areas of North Wales are all within easy reach as are many typical Welsh villages that pave the way through the Conwy Valley.......
